A Guide To Making An All-New Green Kitchen

With changing times, changes our responsibilities as well. Cooking is no more just about manufacture and consumption of food; rather, cooking is one of the most necessary components for survival and should be performed accordingly. What is a home without a kitchen? The answer is incomplete. Therefore, in order to make your home a place you feel most comfortable in, it is important to take care in designing of your kitchen.

With increasing workload, the cacophony of an industrial work life seems to get onto our nerves at certain times; and during these times what we crave for the most is a little bit of nature, a little bit of green, a little bit of pure organic life, that would give you the comfort of a mother, unadulterated.

As responsible and conscious human beings, it is not just enough to survive; it is important to ensure a healthy survival of the generations to come. To be precise, sustainability is essential, and it requires us to live in a more environment-friendly manner so that we do not affect the plants/animals/atmosphere around us adversely.

Why should I have a Green kitchen?

An environment-friendly kitchen is a kitchen that cooks eco-friendly manner so that balance is retained between our lifestyle and the outer environment we are living in. In respect to that, an eco-friendly kitchen deserves proper cleaning in a manner that would not disturb the ecological balance of our nature.

So, why should we switch to green kitchens from our usual ones? Here are some reasons why.

  1. Conserve More Energy

In case you prefer to use natural gas for cooking, as it is easier to control the temperature; remember that, with lower BTU output, more energy can be conserved. In fact, natural gas also helps in generating heat instantly, without wasting much heat after the cooking is done. Though natural gas is a fossil fuel and risks the depletion, it is one of the safer options as most of the electricity are produced by burning coal (which is a non-renewable resource) and always risks ‘complete drain out’ of natural but non-renewable energy.

However, if using electricity is more convenient for you, then the suggested option would be to use stoves with the facility of induction. Induction transfers electromagnetic energy directly to the pan, leaving the cook-top comparatively cooler and, therefore, uses almost half the energy used by any other resource. It allows you to conserve more than you deplete.

  1. Make a Smart Choice

There are plenty of new appliances that help you conserve energy while cooking, but it is your job to hunt them down before you make any hasty decision. For example, instead of washing your dishes with hands in the sink, you can easily switch to a good dishwasher because dishwashers use much less water than the manual process. It not only reduces wastage of water but also takes a step towards, etc. friendly conservation.

In fact, while replacing your old appliances with new ones, remember to recycle and reuse. There are numerous organizations/communities that help you exchange/recycle/reuse or even dispose of your old appliances.
